OBJECTIVES
1. BUSINESS BREAKFAST AWARDS
Coordinate The Business Awards program culminating in a Gala
dinner that announces the various category winners as well as
announcing the Premier Regional Business Award winner. The aim
is to recognise and promote business achievement in the region.
2. CIVIC & COMMUNITY
Support community events including the running of the Greater
Dandenong Christmas Carols by Candlelight each year.
3. LIAISON
Maintain contact with local government and other associations to
ensure the region is promoted in a positive manner and members
are aware of current regional issues.
4. FUNCTIONS
Organisation of functions to allow companies to network, promote
their business and enjoy social events. Bi-Annual golf days,
Grand Final luncheon and a Race day along with the occasional
Network lunch or Gold Class Cinema booking make this possible.
5. MARKETING/MEMBERSHIP
Promotion of the Chamber and its objectives through the Chamber
Chat, brochures, privilege program and a member s kit to
increase the Chambers membership. Maintain membership levels of
Gold, Silver and Bronze with suitable benefits.
7. FINANCE
Arrange collection of income from members and sponsors, payment
of expenses, keeping of adequate records, compiling an annual
budget.
The main objectives of the Chamber are matched by the 6 Sub
Committees formed to ensure the Chamber achieves the objectives.
Each person on the Executive Committee will have a
responsibility within at least one Sub Committee. The role of
the Sub Committee chairperson is to report monthly to the
Executive Committee of matters being attended by the Sub
Committee.
KEY FOCUS AREAS
To achieve the Chamber objectives the key focus areas and events
are as follows:
- Awards Breakfasts throughout the year
- Gala awards night to announce the winner
- Golf days in November and February each year
- Christmas Carols by Candlelight
- Joint promotion of information sessions
- Social events including Village Gold Class for Gold members
- Grand Final luncheon
- Promotion of a Race day at Sandown Horse Racing Club
- Privilege Card programme and advertising to encourage trading
within the region..
